Description
Created in collaboration with Pertex® through a year of prototyping and real-world testing. It uses the first PFAS-free Pertex Shield Air™ fabric—a 3-layer, ultra-light, air-permeable fabric offering elite waterproofing and breathability. Race-proven and mountain-ready, it’s built for those who run through the storm, not around it.
Why We Created It
Those who run through the storm, not around it, need a jacket in their mandatory kit that is ready for anything. So our GRID (Gear Research & Innovation Division) spent a year designing, prototyping, and validating our first fully waterproof jacket. In line with our goal to minimise our impact on the natural world, we created it in collaboration with Pertex® and we’re incredibly proud that the GRID Storm Jacket uses the first PFAS-free Pertex Shield Air™—a 3-layer, ultra-light, air-permeable fabric offering elite waterproofing and breathability.Supremely lightweight, the jacket packs into your palm and the gusseted back prevents pull or distortion when worn with a pack."
Features
→ Uses the first PFAS-free Pertex Shield Air™ fabric.
→ Supremely packable and breathable.
→ Uses body heat to convect moisture away.
→ Pack-ready gusset on the back that prevents pull or distortion.
→ Two-way zip for heat regulation.
Sizing & Fit
→ The GRID Storm Jacket follows our standard fit, and sizing is consistent with your other favourite brands. It is a unisex product - we'd advise women to choose a size down (so if you usually wear a S, take an XS).Guillem is 173cm and 60kg and wears SAna is 173cm and 53kg and wears XXS.
Care
→ 100% Recycled Nylon, with PFAS-free fabric.
→ The Pertex Shield Air fabric is a highly technical waterproof membrane designed to protect you from every eventuality. As with any waterproof garment, proactive care will help extend the life of the jacket.
→ After each run, hang the jacket to air dry. Only clean the jacket once hung and dry.
→ For small amounts of dirt, gently wipe it with a cloth and cold water.
→ If washing at home, ensure your washing machine is free of residues. You may want to run a quick water-only (rinse) cycle with a towel to ensure any residues are removed from the machine.
→ Always wash the jacket on its own - and check the pocket before washing.
→ Close all zips, turn the jacket inside out to avoid zip-pulls catching, and wash with a specialist waterproof membrane detergent (e.g. Nikwax Tech Wash) on a low-temperature, low-spin-speed wash. Do not use generic or bleach-based detergents, and never add fabric softener as these can impede the performance of the waterproof membrane.
→ Line dry the GRID Storm Jacket, or tumble dry it on a warm, gentle cycle.
→ Pertex suggests Nikwax TX Direct as an option for re-proofing should the need arise.
